okay, so on my bike my back gears are messed up. the dial says it is on gear 1 but when you look at the chain it says gear 3. gear 2 is really on 4 and so on is there a way to fix it or do i need a new bike. the bike isn’t a really nice brand, just like a butt one or something like that

hi. I have a trek 3700 bike. I want to do some tricks and other stufff. I would like first how to do a wheelie. In what gear, etc. etc. Also i wolud like to do dome cool tricks like going down staris (huge or long ones) etc. By the way i would also like to do some downhill, jumps. I dont like BMX i only want to get in a downhill competition. Other thing I want to know is whether it is better to buy disc brakes or is it enough with normal ones.

And also I want to know how to improve my resistance speed etc, So i want to know some excercises or something.. i want to know everything about downhill, mountain bike. and other extreme types. It is okay with my bike or do i need other one. Thanx

mountain bike gear Shift gears on a mountain bike?
I have a 26″ Mens’ NEXT PowerX Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike that I bought online at Wal-Mart. I took for a ride the other week and was fine and got it out the other day and for some reason it seems like it wants to shift gears or at least I reflect that is what it is doing but not sure. I just hear a clicking signal down around the chain and not sure what it is? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Right my mountain bike gears do not work, they don’t change at all. I fell off the bike the other day “ha ha” and after that they haven’t been able to change, and i live in village where it has a few hills to get up.
so if any one can help please need to get it repaired asap

mountain bike gear I just bought a new mountain bike, a Jeep Cherokee and it is giving me some gear trouble.?
I’m having distress changing gears. Many times it will not let me change into the highest and lowest gears after I change the handle bar switch to those respective gears. Instead it will rattle like it is trying to change into those gears, but it won’t change. Once in a while I can manage to get them into the gear that I want, but not ot often. Any help is valued. Thanks.
