Why can’t I find a 24″ womens or mens hybrid bicycle?

I have been every where trying to find hybrid bicycle that would fit me. I am 5′ tall and all the hybrid bikes are to tall. Don’t they make them any smaller?

I’ve come to the realization that I’m becoming extremely over-weight. Got sober, hit 32, married, with kids and just ballooned over 90lbs in the last two years. I don’t have the time to put in the hours to lose the weight and with a family history of obesity, I’m scared my kids will have a fat dad.
I’ve always been fit, but, a little pudgy. In high school played football, power lifted, track (2-mile and 1 mile), ran cross- country. Worked out 3-5 hours a day. In adulthood before kids mountain biked 15-30 miles 4-6 day a week. Never was as ripped as I felt I should have been. Now at 5′8″ 245 I can’t do even simple routines without becoming winded.Diabetes and HBP run in the family and I’ve had a total knee reconstruct at age 15 so its already becoming arthritic.
So now with a comprehensive check-up coming in about a week, I’m curious about having a Lap Band implant. I’ve done a little research but I’d like to hear from some people who may have had the surgery. Did you starve? Hunger pains? Is this basically a passive weight loss system (your going to lose the weight with or without exercise)? Will I lose weight untill I have the ability to start doing vigorous workouts?
I realize that exercise is the only surefire way to keep weight off but I feel like I need help gettng to that point in life again, and I’m not going to be able to give more than 4-5 hours a week towards that goal. Doing my best to be realistic about this, set me straight if I’m off base please.

BMX riders out there, i need help!!!?

I’m looking for a low cost bmx and I went to walmart, im 6′1″ tall and 230lbs, I was looking at the freestyle bikes there and the ones I found seemed too “small”. I grew up in the 80s and had a bmx, but the bars on these bmx bikes in wally world seem alot smaller, and the seat don’t come up as far as I would like. Are these bikes like the “MONGOOSE” and the “NEXT” bikes for adults, or are they just kids bikes. I hate mountain bikes I think their too big and bulky and I don’t need all the gears.

Mountain Bike Gearing?

I am about to go buy a new Mountain bike. I havn’t had one in a while. I used to ride allot of trails, and some roads.. I forgot what I had, a iron Horse Point 3 or something. a $1,000 bike or so.

Anyways when I go spend only $500-$700, I want my 29th or 24th gear to be very high. My legs are strong, and I like to cruise fast, but pedaling hard. of course that has to do with the number of teeth on the cassette for that given gear.

When I go look around, what do I look for? I got a cheap mountain bike with X amount of teeth on it’s 21st gear, can I just compare my new bike’s teeth to this cheap one?
