Im looking to buy a used bike, im a beginner cyclist, and dont want to pay too much, im searching on craigs list for bikes for sale in my local area… i have found the following bikes and prices
Trek 4100 Alpha aluminum mountain bike – $250
Trek 820 mountain bike – $150
26″ Gary Fisher – $200
I am primarily going to be riding on roads, but occasionally through grass and such for small cuts, would any of these bikes suite me? also, how are the prices for these bikes?(too high or cheap? if i do get one of these, what must i bargin for?)

Get a hybrid instead of a mountain bike. It will be a lot better on the roads and will allow you to ride on grass, gravel roads and bike paths. The most vital thing when buying a bike is to get the right size. You are doing the right thing in buying a excellent used bike instead of a Walmart or other department store bike.
