About 6 days ago I questioned about a Motobecane 300 HT from Bikes Direct. John M stated the bike had a freewheel & not a freehub/cassette. WRONG! M V stated “Most of the lower-end Motobecane’s are total junk.” Again…incorrect. The only person with a detailed right answer was Ancient Hippie. The bike does have a cassette not a freewheel. although it’s a ‘Sunrace’ and not a better celebrated Shimano or SRAM. It does have double walled Weinmann rims. Even the ‘pot metal’ looking seatpost is really alloy.
Is it a fantastic mountain bike? No. Is it what I was looking for to handle set alight trails & a bit of city riding to & from those trails? Yes. Thanks for nothing guys. Most of your answers stunk.
