I am looking to reenter the mountain biking leisure activity. I rode one when I was a kid and I loved it, my friends finished up going BMX so I followed then but now I am looking to return to mountain biking. I am looking at the above models but I’m not sure which one I want. I am looking for a excellent trail riding bike that can handle rough terrain like rooted trails and the like. I’d perfer ruggedness over speed but I don’t want to sacrifice much of either. Any experienced riders able to help me out?

the first shop i went to tried to sell me a haro flightline 2 which visually is very appealing and currently part of a christmas special. shop 2 deals in trek, and the one i like the most there is the 4300. now i know trek has been all mt bike since the get go. and haro’s history comes from bmx. first, are these two bikes even in the same class?
am i comparing apples to apples when it comes to manufacturers? or is comparing the flightline 2 to the trek 4300 like comparing a bmw 3 run to a mercedes S class? i dont want to make a mistake when i go to buy…
walmart/kmart has by no means been an option…
i want to only spend around 500, and the 4300 gets me to around that fee, but this haro is much less.
i just dont know if the haro model is in the class of the trek 820, 3700, 3900, or 4300…
like i said, i want to compare apples to apples.

I want to fix these problems. When I shift down (3 to 2 or 2 to 1) the chain occasionally falls off the gears, requiring me to shift up (with the 1, 2, 3 options) again to get it back on. And sometimes when I pedal uphill, the gears/chain grinds and skips a bunch of spots… How can I fix these problems?

I need some help on how much I must sell my 1999 Haro. It looks groundbreaking new, and theres nothing incorrect with it. I bought it orginally for 2,000 back in 99. It has new peddles on it and just got fixed with the gear shifter. Each thing else is fine. Please help me choose on how much I must sell it for.

I bought a haro shift r1 in a 20″ frame. When I bought the bike I was told that it was the largest frame they made for the bike, then I went online and saw they offered it in a 21″. When i confronted they guy at the store who sold me the bike he said a month or two ago they started offering the bike in 2 new colors and the 21″ option. Is this guy full of shit and just wanted a quick sale? or is he telling me the certainty?
