I just bought a new mountain bike, a Jeep Cherokee and it is giving me some gear trouble.?

mountain bike gear I just bought a new mountain bike, a Jeep Cherokee and it is giving me some gear trouble.?
I’m having distress changing gears. Many times it will not let me change into the highest and lowest gears after I change the handle bar switch to those respective gears. Instead it will rattle like it is trying to change into those gears, but it won’t change. Once in a while I can manage to get them into the gear that I want, but not ot often. Any help is valued. Thanks.

Mountain Bike Gears Popping?

My bike is groundbreaking new, got it in February, but took it out now for doubtless its third ride. I don’t know a lot about bikes, but it has 3 front gears, 8 back gears. When I am pedalling, the bike will sometimes slip, the chain kind of like skipping a link or something. This happens no topic which of the front 3 gears I am in. It also happens naughtily when going up hills, but I figured that is doubtless since the gear wasn’t low enough. (?)

If it helps, it is an Iron Horse Quantum II…I’ve looked it up online before, but I guess it is sold exclusively at Sports Authority supplies. It has Shimano Acera shifting, which I have heard is decent.

Anyways, if you know the conundrum, please help me out. Also, if it is something I did or am doing incorrect when shifting (I am still kind of culture the whole shifting thing, too) please tell me. Thanks!

I’ve been looking for some new leisure activities and mountain biking has really peaked my interest. Mostly down hill. Those guys have serious balls.

Anyway, what are some excellent brands that I must look for when I choose to finally buy a down hill mountain bike? Especially for beginners. It doesn’t have to be something extremely top of the line, just a bike sturdy enough to go shredding on.
And what brands for helmets, pads, etc are pretty excellent?

kids mountain bikes Need advice for a first mountain bike!?
When I was a kid I used to ruin all my bikes doing jumps and such things. Now I’m 18 and I wanna start doing freeride mountain bike. I don’t have a super budget so I plot to spend around 1300 to 1700$ for the bike. I want to know some mtb freeride brands and some advice!
Still wondering if I must buy an used bike?
Maybe a last year bike?

Also, I want to know how long these bikes last? If someone is doing jumps and such 1 weekend on 2!

mountain bike gear are my jumpy gears on my new mountain bike normal or should i be worried?
ive just bought a new mountain bike, a carrera vulcan, I have taken it out twice and im finding that the gears at the back are a bit jumpy and sometimes struggles to get into gear, also jumps up or down a gear when i have not touched the triggers.
someone told me that this can be quite normal for a new bike but just wanted some more feedback on the circumstances, if anyone has any answers your help would be much valued.

i just mountain bike on friendly trails no downhill material thats too intense. beyond doubt no full face helmet.
