Um as far as i know the only difference is womens bikes r made smaller so they can be handled a small simpler and the bars connecting the handlebars to the seat are curved instead of straight making it simpler for us girls who tend to be alot shorted than me to really get on them.
Traditionally there is no Cross Bar on a Womans Bike so that Her Dress is not Hoisted up at the top of her Legs stopping Exposure of Her Knickers. The Support Bar is set down just above the Chain, and a Woman can get Her Leg on a Bike lacking having to worry about a Crossbar in the way. But now it dosnt really Topic as a lot of women wear Trousers.
Additional to the point about the shape being designed to not lift women’s skirts, I am looking into buying a road bike, and have been told that many of the road bikes are manufactured to different proportions, with girls tending to have longer legs, and shorter arms and torsos than their male counterparts. The drop handlebars tend to be narrower, and they tend to have saddles that are designed for women.
(And if you’re plotting on cycling in a long skirt, and do not want to show your bloomers, don’t buy a women’s road bike either, as the support bar isn’t lowered on these)
I hope that answers your question.
The geometry is a small different, but originally the main difference was the top tube was lower, or at a slant, so the lady could straddle the bike lacking hiking her dress up so far.
Also the women’s frame is a small more flexible and not so rigid.
that depends if you want a pink bike
